Company history
Forty years ago, Antonio Bucciarelli and his wife Gloria fell in love with an old church steeped in history and surrounded by lush nature. So they decided to return it to its former glory, believing that such beauty could not be lost.
Today their daughter Gaia continues her parents’ dream and, with the help of her brother Nicolò, has transformed the company into a modern winery. Together they have built a magical place that offers visitors a unique combination of history, wine and nature.
A cutting-edge winery set in an ancient hamlet, and a farm that covers about 300 acres. Amidst arable lands and woodlands lie 75 acres of vineyards, where Barbera, Bonarda, Ortrugo, Malvasia, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir grape varieties are cultivated. These vines in turn produce unmistakable local DOC wines as well as fine international blends, created using a clever mix of old farming knowledge and modern technological innovations, all with due regard for the natural and sustainable properties of the “living” product that is wine.
Why we chose them
We tasted Santa Giustina wines at a famous Milanese trattoria, Arlati, and decided to get to know the company. Then we met Gaia Bucciarelli and heard her story (from her potential career in law in Milan, to her return to the land) and we fell in love with it and with this winery set in the hills of Piacenza…

The product we like best by Santa Giustina is Anricus, a fantastic still white from Val Tidone made from Ortrugo and Sauvignon grapes.
But perhaps the real treat at Santa Giustina is the place, where to organize events, refreshments and weddings set in surprisingly pleasant Piacenza hills, surrounded by 300 acres of plantations and woodlands. |
